About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Coordinator to join our finance team at W. & I. Craig (Civil Engineering) Ltd. in a support role for our day-to-day transactions, including expenses and management reporting activities.
The Financial Operations Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Recording and processing financial transactions, including payments, invoices, and expenses, using Xero accounting software.
- Verifying the accuracy of financial records, including supplier ledgers, customer ledgers, and the general ledger, and completing bank and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Managing accounts receivable and payable ledgers, including credit control and cash flow management.
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and aged receivables reporting.
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting on data capture for weekly payroll processing.
- Assisting with the preparation of supporting documentation for the annual financial accounts, R&D claims, and corporation tax returns.
- Providing administrative support, including reception duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Proficiency with cloud-based bookkeeping software (Xero) required.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Accounting qualification (desirable).
