We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, with experience in working with individuals with complex presentations of trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis, personality disorder, and co-morbid substance misuse. They will be confident in managing at-risk individuals and have a commitment to collaborative working and liaison with other health and social care professionals.
The post holder will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk assessments, and medication reviews, as well as providing clinical leadership and guidance to other team members. They will also be expected to participate in research and service development activities, and to contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and treatment of complex mental health conditions
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk assessments, and medication reviews
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to other team members
- Participate in research and service development activities
- Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the service
Requirements
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility)
- Registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Other relevant post-graduate qualification
- Training up to date to be an approved trainer/clinical supervisor in line with GMC recognition and approval of trainers
- Trained as an Educational Supervisor for doctors in training
- Training as a Consultant mentor
