Senior Consultant Psychiatrist General Adult Psychiatry

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant input and clinical leadership to the South Camden Core Team.
- Assist with diagnosis, formulation, medication reviews, management plans, risk assessments, crisis plans, and self-help plans as required for patients referred to the team.
- Conduct direct clinical assessments of patients registered with South Camden GP practices and provide follow-up as appropriate.
- Maintain effective communication with GPs, primary care staff, patients, and their carers.
- Work flexibly within timetabled working hours to prioritize urgent clinical matters.
- Carry out Mental Health Act and domiciliary assessments as required.
Requirements
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry.
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility) - qualifies to act as a Responsible Clinician.
- Registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing.
