Job Summary:
Quarriers South Ayrshire Youth Housing Support Service is seeking a skilled Transition Mentor to provide on-going support and guidance to young people aged 16–25 years who may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support and mentorship to young people to help them access opportunities and engage positively within their communities.
- Work directly with young people to gain their trust and support them in achieving their goals, including educational attainment, academic qualifications, self-confidence, independent living skills, and resilience.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective support plans that address the unique needs of each young person.
- Contribute to a positive team ethos and provide a high level of understanding and empathy regarding issues affecting young people who have faced adversity.
Requirements:
- A full driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
