Job Overview
A key role within Academics Ltd is available for a passionate and caring Mental Health Practitioner Assistant. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

This position involves supporting students in a Specialist SEN School located just outside Thame. As a Mental Health Practitioner Assistant, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing individualized care and education to students with complex needs.

The school caters to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, including children with complex trauma and attachment disorders, as well as generalized anxiety and behavior difficulties.

Responsibilities:
  • Support students throughout the school day in their academic learning and interpersonal skills.
  • Follow therapeutic practice to help each child regulate their emotions and cope with mental challenges.
  • Provide general assistance to the class teacher and collaborate with on-site Psychologists and Therapists.

Requirements:
  • Graduate or soon-to-graduate student in Psychology or related field.
  • Previous experience working with children and additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits:

An attractive salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience) is offered, making this an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to gain direct insight into how trauma manifests in behavior and the therapeutic practices used to address it.
