Role Overview

This role supports the transport team by performing administrative tasks within the department. Key responsibilities include dealing with driver queries, managing the briefing and de-briefing process, recording discrepancies, and reporting to relevant team members.

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year's experience working in an administration-based role.
  • Strong PC-based knowledge, including intermediate Excel spreadsheet skills and web-based system proficiency.
  • Good communication skills, responding to enquiries via telephone and email, providing support for both internal and external contacts.
  • A confident individual who can challenge appropriately when necessary.
  • Reliable and flexible approach, able to work with various teams as required.
  • Highly organised, self-sufficient, and able to work on own initiative with tight deadlines.
  • Some traffic office experience would be advantageous.
  • Must have own transport, full UK driving licence, and own vehicle to work.
Key Accountabilities
  • Verify that drivers are comfortable using the phone app and conduct an initial check to ensure details in Road Runner match jobs and paperwork.
  • E nsure correct trailer number, driver name, and unit are entered into Road Runner.
  • Hand over pods with discrepancies to customer services for processing and pass scanned and clean pods to accounts team for filing and attaching to invoices.
  • Liaise with drivers, transport team, and relevant collection points regarding any problems, such as returns or shortages with a POD.
  • Conduct live debriefs throughout the day with all driver deliveries, in conjunction with other administration team members, to ensure all planned deliveries and collection times are on track. Also, feed back to transport operators any concerns, issues, lates, or failures.

The estimated annual salary range for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 based on the job requirements, location, and industry standards.
