Pet Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Care Specialist to join our team at Difford Kennels & Cattery. As a Pet Care Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the wellbeing of our canine and feline guests. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include feeding, grooming, and exercising the animals, while also maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Feed, groom, and exercise dogs and cats in our care
- Clean and maintain kennel and cattery facilities, ensuring hygiene standards are met
- Monitor the health and behavior of the animals, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Administer medications as required and follow specific care instructions for individual pets
- Provide enrichment activities to keep animals mentally and physically stimulated
- Assist with check-ins and check-outs of pets, ensuring all paperwork is completed
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' needs and wellbeing
Requirements
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred
- Strong passion for animal welfare and care
- Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and walking dogs
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior and health signs
