M&D Care is dedicated to providing exceptional support to vulnerable adults, placing their well-being at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner – Level 5 to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in empowering individuals with learning disabilities and/or ASC to live fulfilling lives.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to individuals with complex needs, including those exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate tailored interventions for individuals presenting with challenging behaviours.
  • Deliver engaging Positive Behaviour Support training to staff and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a peripatetic team, providing expert consultation to 'challenging behaviour' services.
  • Advocate for the reduction of restrictive practices and promote person-centered approaches.
  • Ensure outcome-based service delivery by meticulously documenting and evidencing progress.
  • Actively participate in person-centered review processes and utilize a range of planning tools to support individual goals.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
  • Demonstrate creativity and initiative by developing innovative solutions that enhance independence for the individuals we support.
Your Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • A related degree or equivalent qualification (QCF5).
  • PBS level 4 (BTEC) certification.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate staff through change management initiatives.
  • Proven experience working within challenging behaviour services.
  • A minimum of 18 months of experience supporting individuals with complex needs, particularly those with ASD, learning disabilities, and/or mental health conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legal frameworks, such as the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
  • The ability to conduct behaviour assessments, analyze data, and write comprehensive reports.
  • Strong team building, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • PBS level 4 (BTEC)PBM (ABMU) trainer certification.
  • Experience in conducting incident debriefs and functional analysis of behaviours.
  • Experience in writing PBS plans and delivering training programs.
