Turbine Maintenance Specialist

Reporting to the Functional Manager - Engineering, the Turbine Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting daily engineering breakdown issues and leading turbine outage events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations, Inspection, SHE, Performance, and Maintenance functions to ensure clear 5 and 10-year asset plans are developed and maintained, adhering to legal compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities:- Support daily engineering breakdown issues and lead turbine outage events
- Develop and maintain clear 5 and 10-year asset plans with Operations, Inspection, SHE, Performance, and Maintenance functions
- Work across all assets to support and sustain operation through Planned Maintenance Optimisation and Asset Tactics
- Initiate, lead, and deliver projects and solutions to meet strategic objectives
- Drive assets to achieve the "Best Available Technology" by actively seeking new and emerging technologies and methodologies
- Ensure compliance to relevant engineering standards and quality assurance/control in line with defined statutory and business standards
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and support to Projects, Maintenance, and Operations functions for mechanical rotating equipment and design code requirements
- Ensure an up-to-date and complete Technical Library, asset criticality study, critical spares holding, 10-year plan, planned maintenance schedule, and inspection program are in place and audited for compliance
- Work with the Maintenance and Planning Manager to ensure all work is prioritised and scheduled to maximise efficiencies, ensure legal compliance, and reduce breakdowns
- Provide out-of-hours support to the project, maintenance, and operations departments as required
- Degree Qualified (BEng Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Experience of engineering and equipment maintenance in the plant area or similar operation
- IT skills (use of Outlook, Maximo, spreadsheets, word processing, Microsoft Project etc.)
- Up-to-date with best practice maintenance and engineering techniques
- Excellent awareness and implementation of SHE requirements
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of cost control and contractor management
- Good report writing, communication, and meeting skills
- An understanding of large-scale Industrial Boiler Systems would be advantageous
