About the Role

The National Fraud Investigator Digital role is a critical position within Halfords, responsible for supporting the business by focusing on external fraud on our digital platforms and MOTO (Telephone Orders) channels.

This role is part of the Profit Protection team, an independent and objective function designed to add value and reduce loss. As a National Fraud Investigator Digital, you will manage our fraud prevention software to minimize fraudulent transactions, chargebacks, and maximize sales through the identification of fraudulent transactions and optimization of the fraud ruleset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analytical Skills: Utilize your analytical skills to identify trends and interpret complex data streams across multiple sources of data.
  • Fraudulent Transaction Identification: Identify fraudulent transactions and their networks, blocking them from our eCommerce platforms.
  • Fraud Ruleset Optimization: Understand the pattern of fraudulent transactions and translate this into adjustments that can be made in our fraud ruleset to prevent similar frauds occurring in the future.
  • Genuine Customer Protection: Ensure that rules in place to prevent fraud are not affecting genuine customers.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work quickly and effectively with multiple stakeholders across the business, including Profit Protection Team, IT/Digital, Retail & Garage Operations, Risk Management/Legal, and Audit Committee/Main Board.
