About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Design Engineer to join our team at Arete Medical Technologies. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our medical device designs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical design, including CAD (SolidWorks) modeling and design for manufacture (injection molding). Additionally, they will possess knowledge of fluid dynamics and sensor systems, as well as excellent writing and oral communication skills.

This is a permanent role with a competitive base salary, depending on experience, and potential for share options. We offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain new CAD models and existing product designs through their lifecycle
  • Specify verification and validation tests of the mechanical design, for example to IEC 60601-1
  • Document the design, manufacturing, and verification activities within our ISO 13485 quality management system and ISO 14971 risk management systems
  • Act as liaison with external vendors such as contract manufacturers and suppliers
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Chemical, and/or Biomedical Engineering or related program with 2.1+ and 2-5 years of experience
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably in medical devices
  • Excellent technical documentation, experimental design, and time management skills
