Job Title: Senior Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team at The Cambian Group. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide physical and emotional support to young people in residential settings, classrooms, and off-site activities.
  2. Enable young people to develop by providing guidance, support, and encouragement.
  3. Work as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of young people.
  4. Be a good role model and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
  5. Support young people in developing their personal cleanliness, general hygiene, and appearance.
  6. Assist young people with their medical and welfare needs and report as required.
  7. Monitor young people's condition and contribute to record keeping.
  8. Attend meetings and take an active part in discussions.
  9. Be an effective Keyworker/Personal Tutor for young people.
  10. Support young people in managing their behavior using approved approaches.
  11. Promote equality and challenge discriminatory practices.
  12. Safeguard young people from abuse and report any concerns.
  13. Write accurate and comprehensive reports for reviews and keep records.
  14. Take primary responsibility for a specific area of service development or project.
  15. Attend training and achieve qualifications as required.
  16. Actively promote and develop learning in residential, leisure, and classroom situations.
  17. Attend work reliably and punctually and follow a work pattern as required.
  18. Support young people during transfers and liaise with the transition department.
  19. Keep up to date with procedures and policy changes and disseminate information to team members.
  20. Be prepared to drive the minibus if required.
  21. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others.

Person Specification:

For new appointments, a selection panel will assess each point below against the application form. As a job applicant, you should explain how you match these points using examples from previous jobs, voluntary work, or education.

Key Requirements:

  1. Ability to carry out effective debrief.
  2. Qualification - Level 3 RQF certificate in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
