Our client, a prominent global manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Procurement Lead to join their team in Birmingham on a full-time, permanent basis.


In the role of Procurement Lead, you will collaborate with the UK Procurement Team while overseeing the local procurement division to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives aligned with procurement strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the adoption of a category management framework.
  • Utilizing SAP MRP for the management of spare parts inventory.
  • Supervising the daily operations of the procurement team.
  • Processing purchase orders in accordance with procurement policies.
  • Sourcing non-stock engineering components.
  • Establishing service contracts as needed by the organization.
  • Acting as the SAP MM key user for the facility.
  • Employing effective stock control techniques to manage central stores, ensuring the security of components, optimal working capital, and high stock accuracy.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to cultivate enduring relationships.
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
  • Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
  • Progressing towards MCIPS certification.
