We are seeking an experienced Senior Ubuntu Integration Specialist to lead our distributed engineering team in designing and implementing the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux distributions, Debian packaging, and high-performance server-class hardware. They will also possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to work effectively with commercial partners to deliver a delightful, optimized first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.

The role requires demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers, as well as a solid understanding of agile software development methodologies. The selected candidate will oversee commercial engagements, ensure timely delivery on agreed project milestones, and maintain strict quality and reliability standards.

As a Senior Ubuntu Integration Specialist at Canonical, you will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on strategy and execution. You will also represent the team in direct partner engagement and collaborate effectively across multiple internal teams, building trust and delivering results.

In this role, you can expect an estimated salary of $140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of distributed engineers to design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks
  • Engage with commercial partners to deliver a delightful, optimized first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms
  • Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example, and feedback
  • Oversee commercial engagements and support timely delivery on agreed project milestones
  • Ensure an ongoing commitment to strict quality and reliability standards
  • Engage with other teams at Canonical to ensure alignment on product architecture and roadmaps
