Job Title: Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Midwife to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a dedicated Midwife, you will be responsible for providing safe, clinically effective, and individualized care to women and birthing people throughout their pregnancy journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care for patients assigned to you.
  • Organize and provide midwifery care for patients, utilizing the full skills of a midwife practitioner.
  • Discuss development and changes in midwifery and medical care with the Ward Manager/Team Leader.
  • Provide care to bereaved patients and their relatives, breaking bad news and supporting other staff.
  • Communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary professionals and agencies to ensure seamless care at a high standard.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure patient safety, including delegating patient care to midwives with the appropriate level of skill.
  • Report accidents/incidents to the Ward Manager/Senior Midwife/Head of Midwifery and monitor the safe and effective use of equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
  • Current, effective, and up-to-date registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Proven experience in all areas of midwifery practice.
  • Proven experience of delegating workload when looking after a caseload.
  • Able to travel.
  • Flexible approach to working, prepared to work variable shift patterns, early, late, night shifts, over 7 days of the week.
  • Awareness of self-presentation to patients and relatives.
  • Understanding of the organization's values.
