Speech and Language Therapist – St Peter's Hospital

We are looking for a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join our well-established team at St Peter's Hospital. The successful candidate will have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and recognised professional qualifications.

About the Role

The post is supported by a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist and a Speech and Language Therapist Assistant. As a key member of our Speech and Language Therapy Team, you will be integral to promoting communication for all service users. Experience in dysphagia would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage a specialist/complex caseload which may include dysphagia management and training.
  2. Provide assessments, diagnostic advice, and treatment recommendations for all service users referred.
  3. Help plan and monitor individual and group treatment as necessary.
  4. Contribute to the Multi-Disciplinary Team, liaising with other professionals in specific units and encouraging good liaison with other agencies.
  5. Offer advice to families as required.
  6. Attend MDTs, staff meetings, CPDs, and in-service training as needed.
  7. Follow current administrative and statistical procedures as required.
  8. Keep clinical notes as per professional guidance and standards.
  9. Keep up to date with new techniques and research to maintain and promote good practice.
  10. Contribute to quality assurance and clinical audits as necessary.
