Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at St Peters Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech and language therapy services to older adults with complex dementias and other neurological conditions.

Main Duties

* Provide speech and language therapy sessions to patients with complex dementias and other neurological conditions
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
* Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
* Provide training and education to staff on communication and swallowing disorders
* Participate in quality assurance and clinical audits to ensure high-quality care

Key Responsibilities

* Work with a caseload of patients with neurodegenerative disorders and older adult mental health
* Plan, deliver, and monitor individual and group sessions as appropriate
* Engage with the SALT team to deliver effective communication tools
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, and continuing professional development as required

Person Specification

* Essential qualifications: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Registered member of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
* Desirable qualifications: Experience working with adult mental health/neurological conditions, ability to use standardized assessments

Working Arrangements

* Flexible working hours to meet the needs of the service
* Reports to: Hospital Director/Head of Therapy
* Accountable to: Senior Speech and Language Therapist/Head of Therapy
