Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a SEND school in Surrey. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children or young people with SEND. A relevant qualification in education or childcare is advantageous but not essential. You will be responsible for providing individualized support to students, assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery, and contributing to a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the learning and development of students with SEND
• Assist in the planning and delivery of personalized learning activities
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students
• Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
• Assist with personal care tasks as required
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support for students

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
