At UCL, we are committed to advancing mental health research and education. Our Division of Psychiatry is a leading centre for research excellence, with a strong focus on child and adolescent psychiatry.

The successful candidate will be an honorary consultant psychiatrist at North London NHS Foundation Trust, with a part-time academic appointment at UCL (0.8 FTE). The salary range for this position is £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, plus a £2,162 London Weighting allowance (pro-rata).

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead your own research in child and adolescent psychiatry and contribute to the overall scientific mission of UCL. You will work closely with colleagues across psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience, and beyond to advance our understanding of mental health.

  • Lead your own research in child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Promote collaboration across disciplinary boundaries within UCL
  • Attract, mentor, and support early career researchers

You will also have teaching duties on postgraduate non-clinical and professional courses, as well as supervising research students and junior staff. With extensive IT and professional support for teaching within UCL, you will be able to excel in your role.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A higher academic career, such as a PhD or equivalent attainment in research publications
  • GMC registration with a current licence to practice and specialist registration for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Evidence of obtaining and managing research funds
  • Experience teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level and supervising research students
