We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Adolescent Psychiatrist Specialist to join our team in this exciting opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care and treatment for adolescents and their families presenting with various mental health and developmental difficulties.

The role will involve conducting psychiatric assessments, including risk assessments for young people referred to and those admitted to the service. You will also take a leadership role within the team, providing appropriate support and supervision to other team members, as well as specialist psychiatric advice to the multidisciplinary team at Lavender Walk Adolescent Unit.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £110,000 - £145,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a generous annual leave entitlement, study leave, and the NHS pension scheme.

The post holder will share clinical supervision responsibilities with the other Consultant for a Higher Trainee and a Core trainee based on Lavender Walk Adolescent Unit. They will also contribute to the CNWL Out of Hours consultant psychiatric on-call rota and ensure effective communication with referring and receiving teams throughout the Trust.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychiatric assessments, including risk assessments for young people referred to, and those admitted to the service.
  • Provide treatment for young people admitted to the service.
  • Work in partnership with young people, parents, and carers to develop evidence-based, effective, and agreed care plans.
  • Coordinate multiagency packages of care, treatment, and support for young people and their families with complex mental health problems.
  • Provide consultation, advice, and appropriate support to professionals in the wider network of the young person and/or family.
  • Coordinate clinical liaison with clinicians in other community CAMHS services and other agencies.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of specialist CAMHS Inpatient Services in association with the NWL PC Clinical Group, NHSE Regional Advisor for CAMHS, NWL STP, and the Trust's management structure.
