About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our orthopaedic team at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care, supporting the Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates, and contributing to the overall care of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct patient care, including meeting hygiene, continence, nutrition, and mobility needs.
- Taking and recording patients' vital signs, identifying and escalating changes to a patient's condition.
- Providing one-to-one observation for patients who present a high risk of harm and vulnerable patients.
- Undertaking training and competencies related to the role, such as ECGs, venepuncture, and cannulation.
- Escorting patients to different departments, such as x-ray.
- Maintaining a clean and organized department, restocking equipment, and supporting new and junior team members.
