We are a friendly and supportive team at Minster Medical Practice, seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our nursing team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care to join our team of 3 Practice Nurses, a Health Care Support Worker, and Phlebotomist. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with chronic disease management, providing a holistic nursing service to all patients, and delivering a range of services to agreed practice guidelines/protocols.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with chronic disease management, including diabetes and asthma/COPD
  • Provide a holistic nursing service to all patients, including health promotion activities and lifestyle advice
  • Deliver a range of services to agreed practice guidelines/protocols, including cytology, wound care, and removal of sutures
  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care, as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
  • Request pathology tests, such as urine culture and swabs
  • Provide contraceptive advice and pill checks
  • Follow agreed clinical protocols, with referral to senior nursing staff or GPs as appropriate

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous general practice nursing experience
  • NMC Registration
  • IT literate

Desirable

  • Experience of chronic disease management
  • Diabetes or Asthma/COPD diploma
