SENCO Opportunity at Milestone Education Ltd

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to lead the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at our partnered school.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, working closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure that every child has the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the assessment, identification, and tracking of pupils with SEN.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure that pupils receive appropriate support.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive teaching practices and SEN strategies.
  • Monitor and review the progress of pupils with SEN, using data to inform decisions and improvements.
  • Play a key role in the school's leadership team, contributing to overall school improvement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a school environment, with specific experience working with SEN pupils.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and ideally a National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it).
  • Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and current SEN legislation.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
