Children's Rights Advocate

Barnardo's Children Rights provides a multidisciplinary service that offers Independent Visitor and Advocacy services to children in care. Our service is designed to empower young people by providing them with access to legal advice, information about the care system, and support with accessing housing and improving communication with professionals involved in their care.
The Advocacy service provides independent advice to children in care about their rights and entitlements. We seek to achieve a timely resolution for young people, often responding to urgent referrals where prompt action and negotiation with professionals is needed. Our cases are fast-turning, and we operate in a dynamic environment that requires a careful balance of competing priorities while ensuring safeguarding at all times.
As a member of our team, you will be based in our Crystal Palace office, which is close to public transport links. However, we offer flexible working arrangements, and you may choose to work from other secure and confidential locations, such as other Barnardo's buildings, a space within the Local Authority buildings, or from home.
