Barnardo's Children Rights provides a multidisciplinary service which offers Independent Visitor and Advocacy services to children in care. The service is designed to provide support and guidance to young people, empowering them to make informed decisions about their lives.

The Advocacy service provides independent advice to children in care about their rights and entitlements. It seeks to support young people in accessing legal advice, information about the care system, and assistance with housing and communication with professionals involved in their care.

The service responds to urgent referrals, requiring prompt action and negotiation with professionals. Most cases are resolved within 3 months, with a focus on achieving timely resolutions for young people. The nature of the service is complex, requiring a balance of competing priorities while ensuring safeguarding at all times.

As a Children's Rights Advocate, you will be based in our Crystal Palace office, with the option to work from other secure and confidential locations. You will report to the Children's Rights Team Manager and work in a dynamic environment, supporting children and young people to achieve their goals.
