About The Role

Morrison Energy Services is seeking a skilled High Voltage Cable Jointer to join our UK Power Networks contract in Hertfordshire.

As a High Voltage Cable Jointer, you will be part of our substation build team, delivering Capital Programme works on UKPN's 11k V, 33k V & 132k V Distribution Network.

Your role will involve the jointing and terminating of 11k V and 33k V cables onto High Voltage equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use and interpret manuals, asset standards, and technical information to assist with installations and remedial works.
  • Work in accordance with the company and client safe systems of work and permit to work systems.
  • Adapt and respond to unforeseen events and act accordingly.
  • Plan and coordinate effectively without supervision.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced staff and apprentices in developing their knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline or completed an approved Apprenticeship.
  • Full driver's license.
  • Act as a competent person to receive safety documentation.
  • Experience in terminating Inner Cone and T-Boot cable terminations.
  • Experience in installing Indoor / Outdoor Raychem 11k V/33k V terminations.
  • Experience in Jointing XLPE to XLPE / XLPE to PILC 11k V / 33k V cable Joints.
  • Experience in dressing and cleating above ground terminations.
