Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Special Educational Needs Assistant to join our team at Austin Fraser. As a SEN Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a rural school setting, where you will be responsible for supporting students with special educational needs. You will work closely with the Class Teacher to ensure the day-to-day running of the class and deliver whole-class, group, and individual lessons. Your expertise and dedication will help students overcome challenges and thrive academically and personally.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies.
  • Leading in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school.
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of classes and taking the lead in the absence of a class teacher.
  • Selecting and adapting resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities.
  • Reinforcing learning concepts presented by teachers.
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on development, progress, and attainment.
  • Participating in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
  • Guiding less experienced TAs and contributing to the community life of the school.

Requirements:
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification.
  • GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.

Salary: £34,000 - £44,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
