The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to support the running of a new factory by resolving breakdowns, delivering maintenance, and driving improvements across the site and site services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and experience working within the food industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all maintenance across site services and site facilities, ensuring compliance and optimum availability.
  • Attend to breakdowns onsite, reducing downtime of site plant and machinery.
  • Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production.
  • Perform daily checks on all site services.
  • Core facility and utilities services, such as steam boilers and associated pipework, air compressors, water treatment system, CIP room checks, effluent plant, ammonia plant room, and other refrigeration systems.
  • Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI's through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance and improve OEE.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Ensure all chemical and bacterial checks/tests of cooling tower water are taking place as per internal schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience.
  • Multi-skilled with formal engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical and/or mechanical subject, and/or nationally recognized apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
  • Possess 17th or 18th Edition Certification.
  • Proven experience of working within the food industry.
  • Possess Steam utilization and boiler house training certification.
  • Health and Safety/Basic Food Hygiene trained.
  • Experience in managing contractors on-site.
  • Have a proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Computer literate and a working knowledge of MS Office and a PPM system.
  • Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals.
