Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Engineer to support the running of our new factory by resolving breakdowns, delivering maintenance, and driving improvements across the site and site services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all maintenance across site services and site facilities, ensuring optimal availability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Attend to breakdowns onsite to minimize downtime of site plant and machinery, utilizing problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
  • Perform repairs to plant and equipment during production, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular checks on all site services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance and optimum availability of core facility and utilities services, including steam boilers, air compressors, water treatment systems, and refrigeration systems.
  • Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI's through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and up-to-date with the latest technology.
  • Ensure all chemical and bacterial checks/tests of cooling tower water are conducted as per internal schedule, adhering to regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience, with a strong background in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines.
  • Multi-skilled with formal engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical and/or mechanical subject, and/or nationally recognized apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
  • Possess 17th or 18th Edition Certification, demonstrating expertise in electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Proven experience of working within the food industry, with a strong understanding of food safety and quality standards.
  • Possess Steam utilization and boiler house training certification, ensuring competence in steam systems and boiler operation.
  • Health and Safety/Basic Food Hygiene trained, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Experience in managing contractors on-site, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proactive approach to fault finding, commitment to continuous improvement, and a strong focus on delivering results.
  • Computer literate and working knowledge of MS Office and a PPM system, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
