Art Director Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Art Director to join our in-house game studio in London. As an Art Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving art production and collaborating with the Head of the studio, game designers, developers, artists, and sound engineers to bring our games to life.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the studio head and game designers to create concept art, mock-ups, mood boards, and UI designs for upcoming games.
  2. Design and produce high-quality slot game art, logos, win presentations, game transitions, animations, info pages, etc., for games, both with and without the use of AI tools.
  3. Manage and guide in-house and third-party artists to achieve their goals.
  4. Work closely with front-end developers to deliver art assets in the required formats for implementation.
  5. Ensure proper compression and optimization of assets for various supported devices.
  6. Stay updated on thematic trends and key competitors in the gaming industry, proactively suggesting themes and improvements for upcoming games based on ongoing research.
  7. Assist game designers in visualizing their game ideas quickly.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry-standard tools and techniques for generating game art and animations.
  9. Clearly communicate ideas and concepts throughout the organization.
  10. Maintain libraries of all art assets produced by the studio.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the online gambling or social gaming industry or in similar roles.
  2. Bachelor's degree in art or a related field, or a proven track record in game design art.
  3. Portfolio of personal work.
  4. Leadership experience and ability to direct others.
  5. Previous experience and understanding of mechanics and visuals for slot games and related casino games.
  6. Meticulous, proactive, and keen eye for detail.
  7. Ability to provide reasonable and accurate project estimates and meet deadlines.
  8. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Maya, and Spine animations.
  9. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of 3D modelling, character animation, and texturing.
  10. Experience creating storyboards, art guidelines, mood boards, and concept art with a quick turnaround.
  11. Expertise in layering and delivering assets in preferred formats.
  12. Exceptional illustration, typography, layout, and composition skills.
  13. Excellent eye for colour theory, composition, and rendering.
