About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Welfare Benefits Specialist to join our team at Tameside Council. The successful candidate will provide specialist level welfare benefits advice to residents, assist with casework, deliver training and talks, and represent clients at social security appeal tribunals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist level welfare benefits advice to residents
  • Assist with casework and represent clients at social security appeal tribunals
  • Deliver training and talks on welfare benefits and related topics
  • Produce written and oral information on welfare benefits and related topics

About You

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in providing welfare benefits advice, excellent communication skills, and a working knowledge of the benefits system. They will also be able to work effectively in a team and have a commitment to delivering high-quality services to residents.
