Exciting Opportunity for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Adult consultant psychiatrist to join our West Sussex Care Delivery Service on a fixed-term basis for one year. The role is based in Jade Ward, which provides in-patient care and treatment for adults.

This position comes with a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, in addition to a relocation allowance of up to £8,000. The payment is pro rata for part-time employees.

  • £5,000 payment upon appointment
  • £5,000 retention payment at 12 months of employment
  • £6,500 retention payment at 30 months of employment
  • £8,500 retention payment at 48 months of employment

This role offers opportunities for research, development, medical education, or special interests. On appointment, you will have access to the Trust-wide consultant network and peer support from colleagues in West Sussex.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be included on the GMC Specialist Register or achieve this within six months
  • Hold approved clinician status or be able to achieve this within three months of appointment
  • Have excellent knowledge in the specialty
  • Hold a qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
  • Be in good standing with the GMC with respect to warnings and conditions on practice
  • Have a wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable services
