About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a large specialist SEN school. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children with complex needs and disabilities, including MLD, PMLD, physical needs, and a range of SEN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils aged 11 to 19 in the secondary part of the school
  • Provide physical support, help with communication and interpersonal skills, and delivery of sensory curriculum-based learning activities
  • Work across a number of classes, including one-to-one Teaching Assistant work and small class support
  • Support the class teacher as part of a team of teaching assistants

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with a disability or SEN
  • Ability to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills
  • Happy to carry out personal care, including changing and hoists
  • Promote happiness, self-reliance, and encourage positive interactions
