About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at The Aurora Group. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our children with complex needs, ensuring they receive the best possible education and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with their learning and general wellbeing, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Assist with care needs and positive behaviour management, adopting a tailored approach to individual children.
  • Establish a warm and supportive relationship with pupils, encouraging independence and personal development.
  • Contribute to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences, supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, lending a hand whenever required.
Requirements
  • Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car (desirable).
  • A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent (desirable).
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification (essential).
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
  • Ability to adapt and be positive in assisting to meet pupils' individual needs.
