Seeking an experienced and dedicated Academic Mentor to join our faculty as a Humanities Teacher. Wayman Learning Trust is a reputable secondary school in Lambeth, committed to providing a well-rounded education and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the schools thriving Humanities department, inspiring students to explore the rich tapestry of human history, societies, and cultures. The role entails designing and delivering engaging Humanities lessons aligned with the national curriculum and the school's educational ethos.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering high-quality Humanities lessons encompassing subjects such as History, Geography, RE, and potentially others, aligned with the national curriculum and the school's educational ethos.
  • Fostering a passion for the Humanities in students, encouraging critical thinking, inquiry, and a global perspective.
  • Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing personalized learning strategies to maximize individual potential.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the department and wider school community to develop and enhance the Humanities curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a Humanities-related field (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching Humanities subjects at the secondary level.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Possessing excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications based on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS), approximately £35,000 - £55,000 per annum.
