About the Role

The Surgical First Assistant will provide expert clinical support to surgical teams, working under the direction of consultant surgeons. This role requires a high level of clinical skill, manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities

Assist in all aspects of surgical procedures, providing competent and skilled support to operating surgeons.

Provide clinical leadership and supervision to surgical teams, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

Develop and implement strategies for the management of surgical services, working closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

Substantial specialist experience post-accreditation, with a strong track record of clinical excellence.

Appropriate experience acquired to demonstrate a high level of clinical skill and excellent manual dexterity.

Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner, with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health Care Profession Council.
