Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Home Haemodialysis Team as a Haemodialysis Assistant Practitioner. This is a rare opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients undergoing haemodialysis in their own homes.

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative and patient-centered care, promoting independence and empowering patients to manage their treatment effectively.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing training and support to patients on haemodialysis, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their treatment safely and effectively.
  • Conducting home visits to assess patients' needs, provide education, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Working collaboratively with the renal specialist nurses to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Assisting with the development of junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional growth.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year's experience in renal care, with a strong understanding of haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of renal replacement therapies, including haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
