Job Title: Optical Leadership Opportunity in Norwich

Health Care Personnel is seeking an exceptional Optical Manager to join their team in Norwich, Norfolk.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity has arisen due to a highly successful period for the company. As an Optical Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team, driving business growth, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Elevate practice efficiency and compliance with organisational procedures
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction with products and services
  • Motivate, support, train, and develop staff
  • Realise the full potential of the practice regarding patient numbers and sales targets
  • Achieve maximum profitability
  • Be responsible for quality control in all areas
  • Manage stock control
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the practice
  • Be responsible for health and safety standards across the practice
  • Work with the Marketing Department to maximise marketing effectiveness at a local level
  • Drive cost efficiencies
  • Dispense spectacles to prescriptions
  • Ensure that the sale and supply of spectacles and Contact Lenses only take place under the supervision of a registered optician for children under the age of 16 years and those who are registered sight impaired (partially sighted) or severely sight impaired (blind)
Personal Specification - Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Prior management experience is desirable, or a proven track record of developing and supporting staff
  • Strong background in customer service
  • Experience of driving business performance such as sales, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiencies
  • Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and engage with staff at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to put the customer first and act in a professional manner in all situations, able to act with tact and discretion
  • Positive and outgoing
  • Flexibility – able to be flexible on days worked and provide cover to other practices
  • Well-presented and professional
  • Attention to detail
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year, plus additional pay through our bonus scheme. Our benefits package includes company events, company pension, employee discount, private dental insurance, private medical insurance, sick pay, and store discount.

Schedule and Location:

This is a full-time, permanent role working an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability. You must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Norwich, Norfolk before starting work.
