Leadership Role: Chief Financial Officer for Material Evolution

Overview:

Material Evolution is a pioneering company in the materials industry, poised for transformative growth and innovation. We seek a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial strategy and drive sustainable and profitable growth aligned with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company’s growth plans, ensuring strategic alignment with our commercial objectives.
  2. Fundraising: Lead the preparation and execution of fundraising processes, including Series B and subsequent funding rounds, to attract and engage investors.
  3. Capital Structure: Develop and execute an optimal capital structure for Material Evolution, leveraging debt, offtake agreements, and diverse financial instruments to enhance financial performance.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, providing insights to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.
  5. Grant Opportunities: Identify strategic grant opportunities that align with the company’s objectives, secure and manage grants to supplement funding, ensuring compliance and strategic use of grant resources.
  6. Financial Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, implementing policies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  7. Financial Operations: Optimize financial operations, including accounting, tax, and treasury functions, implementing systems to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
  8. Financial Reporting: Communicate financial performance and strategy to the board of directors, investors, and employees.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in investment banking, providing a deep understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.
  2. Expertise in capital structuring and leveraging financial instruments to optimize financial performance and support sustainable growth.
  3. Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance and operational efficiencies in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  4. Ability to forecast accuracy, ensuring the board and leadership team have a clear view on current and future financial performance.
  5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  6. Strategic thinker with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and external partners.
  8. Experience working in a start-up environment, preferable but not essential.
