About the Role

Gentrack is seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Test Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the refinement of product development backlogs and sprint planning
  • Ensure task planning activities align with actual work required to complete a story
  • Review change requests, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Support test activities, test scope, and coverage, and participate in task estimation
  • Design and execute appropriate test cases
  • Progress updates in daily stand-ups and retrospectives
  • Extend, maintain, and improve test validity across changing product landscapes
  • Defect and bug reporting, adhering to internal defect guidelines
  • Periodic reporting of progress for internal and external audiences, and retesting of defect fixes
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a commercial software development environment
  • Utility/energy/water supplier industry experience, with customer service requests and billing operations (desired)
  • Working knowledge of STLC, testing in Agile practices
  • Application testing (UI and API) through system, UAT, and operational acceptance test phases
  • Working knowledge of automated testing through UI and APIs
  • Proficiency in both functional and non-functional areas of testing
  • Proficiency in transactional SQL and enterprise database operations
  • Software testing foundation through ISTQB, CAST, or TAU
Desirable
  • Software testing practitioner certification through ISTQB, CAST, or TAU
  • Tools: Jira, Test Management (e.g., TestRail, Xray), Postman
  • Experience in development of automation tests and tools
  • Experience in working with cloud-based solutions or architecture
  • Test in development and automation through the development process
  • Selenium (driver and library), Python language
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented development languages (e.g., Java, C#)
  • Development language certifications (Java, C#) through Oracle or Microsoft
  • SDLC tools: Git or Bitbucket
  • Cloud (e.g., AWS) pipeline deployment and test
