Lead Level Designer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Level Designer to guide our talented team on an unannounced project. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to help shape the development right from the very start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, direct, and deliver level design direction for the project.
  • Lead a team of Level Designers to deliver high-quality levels in line with your direction.
  • Collaborate with Design Directors and the Production team to define and balance creative vision with production realities.
  • Communicate and champion the design direction to your team and ensure they remain up to date with evolving briefs.
  • Regularly review your team's work against the design brief and provide actionable feedback to make improvements.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of 3D software such as Blender, 3D Studio Max, or Maya.
  • Knowledge of the video game development process, including working in a timely/time-bound manner, and prototyping/iterating appropriately within that restriction.
  • Able to develop resolutions to unusually challenging problems and mentor individuals and teams to solve problems creatively.
  • Ability to give and gather information to effectively communicate information and exert influence while building long-term, trusting relationships with a wide range of people.
