About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client's team in Aberdeen. As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide front-line support to the operations site-based team and deliver engineering modifications and technical discipline input to the Projects team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Improvements: Specify, scope, and execute improvements to electrical systems.
  • Asset Electrical Engineering: Act as asset electrical engineering focal point for site projects, including studies.
  • Electrical Single Point of Accountability: Act as Electrical single point of accountability (SPA) for long-term Asset strategy.
  • Discipline Improvements: Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, equipment strategy, defect elimination, and equipment rationalisation.
  • Electrical Spares Strategy: Define and own the asset's electrical spares strategy.
  • Plant Reliability: Lead improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination, and continuous improvement.
  • Safety Reviews: Lead / contribute to safety reviews, risk assessments, and investigations as the electrical engineering focal point.
  • Asset Maintenance Strategies: Act as custodian of asset maintenance strategies for electrical equipment.
  • Planned Maintenance: Support the maintenance team with the implementation of planned maintenance routines.
  • Equipment Breakdown: Support the maintenance team in regards to equipment breakdown; including investigation of fault, defect resolution, and execution of breakdown maintenance.
  • Electrical Engineering Documentation: Act as custodian of key electrical engineering documentation including Power System Study, RFI Ignition Study, Lightning Risk Assessment, High Energy Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment, Ex Inspection.
  • Asset Electrical MOCs: Responsible Engineer for Asset Electrical MOCs (Management of Change) proposals.
  • Incident Management: Participation in the incident management team as required.
  • Travel: Travel to Offshore Platforms or remote onshore sites to provide technical support.
  • Asset Self-Audit: Participation in the Asset self-audit program.
Requirements
  • Education: Candidates will hold a Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer: Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
  • Experience: Hold 10 years' experience including experience of Oil & Gas, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
  • Electrical Equipment: Knowledge and experience of electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres and in relevant legislation such as ATEX and DSEAR.
  • Power Systems: Knowledge and experience of the design, operation, commissioning, and maintenance of HV (up to 33kV) and LV industrial power systems and plant equipment.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of relevant UK Regulatory (Safety Case, COMAH...) and industry standards.
