Data Protection Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our Information Governance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Trust's compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain good knowledge of data protection law and practices and assist in monitoring compliance with the GDPR and Trust policies.
- Manage Freedom of Information requests received by the Trust in accordance with corporate and legislative requirements.
- Collate evidence for demonstrating compliance with the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit online self-assessment.
- Provide advice to the Trust and its employees on compliance obligations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and other measures to ensure compliance with GDPR.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in data protection and a proven track record of delivering high standards of performance. Essential qualifications include a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience, and a specialist data protection qualification. Desirable qualifications include an ISEB qualification relating to IG initiatives and a PRINCE 2 project management qualification.
