Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Assistant Manager to join our team at Doubletree by Hilton Lincoln. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for supporting the Bar General Manager in the running of the hotel Bars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Bar Manager in directing and guiding the team during shifts, ensuring excellent service standards are maintained.
  • Oversee the labour costs, ensuring they are controlled and assist in producing staff rotas in line with payroll budget.
  • Ensure stock and wastage is controlled and levels are maintained, supporting with the monthly stocktake.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shift and department in the Bar Manager's absence, ensuring a smooth operation.
  • Review and manage guest feedback, including all branded platforms, ensuring appropriate action and responses are taken.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all internal teams, ensuring excellent communication to support a smooth operation.
  • Responsible for promoting a positive culture driven by the team.
  • Manage the Bar booking system, email correspondence, and response to customer feedback.
  • Monitor customer feedback, implementing change and training with the team and product where appropriate.
  • Accountability for financial takings of the department, ensuring the team are compliant and up to date with all cash handling procedures.
  • Handle any escalated customer complaints or queries in a swift and professional manner.
  • Organise pre-shift briefs for the department and delegate tasks where necessary.
  • Ensure the team are conducting a thorough open and close down of their areas each time.
  • Restock fridges, ensuring at all times that stock rotation is adhered to.
  • Train and coach new members of the team as well as existing members to ensure high level of customer care is provided in accordance with hotel and brand standards.
  • Ensure all health and safety and licensing laws, policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Attend hotel operations meetings in the absence of the Bar Manager.
  • Take a hands-on approach to the running of the departments, ensuring presence on the floor during all key periods of service.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and licensing laws, policies and procedures.
