Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Lincoln. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning journey of students and contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior to create a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Help to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers and parents, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Support students with special educational needs to help them reach their full potential and participate fully in school life.
  • Supervise and assist with school activities, such as outings and sports events, to promote a sense of community and well-being among students.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in teaching and learning principles.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting, showcasing your ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents, ensuring effective collaboration and support.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with a can-do attitude and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and safeguarding practices, ensuring that you can provide high-quality support to students and contribute to a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required, demonstrating your flexibility and adaptability.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one), ensuring that you meet the necessary requirements for the role.
