We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the NHS. As an Optimisation Specialist, you will play a key role in improving patient care by maximising safe and cost-effective best practices in prescribing.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working under the supervision of the Team Lead and GP Lead at each practice. Your main duties will include leading improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practices in prescribing, helping patients get the best from their medicines, and managing your own workload to provide a broad range of services.

You will be responsible for being the first point of contact for non-clinical medication-related queries from pharmacies and other healthcare professionals, improving the accuracy of patient medication records. Additionally, you will undertake medicines optimisation tasks, including effective medicine administration, supporting medication reviews and medicines reconciliation.

The estimated salary for this role is £30,639 per year, depending on experience.

To be considered for this role, you must have experience working in a pharmacy setting and be registered with the GPhC. You should also have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and an excellent understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues.
