We are recruiting for an Occupational Hygienist to support a pharmaceutical client in the North East of England. The role is based on site, with a 6-month contract.

Job Overview:

The Occupational Hygienist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify, assess, and evaluate solutions to control workplace health hazards and manage associated risk to health.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake measurements for chemical agents, noise, vibration, thermal environment, and non-ionising radiation, and interpret results with respect to established criteria.
  2. Plan and organise surveys and develop sampling strategies in accordance with established guidance and protocols.
  3. Identify reasonably practicable control measures for non-complex situations.
  4. Use qualitative and quantitative assessment methods for assessing exposures.
  5. Evaluate risk and any need for action to prevent or reduce exposures.
  6. Advise on containment solution options for exposure prevention.
  7. Advise on the range of methods for exposure control.
  8. Advise on appropriate selection and use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  1. An occupational hygienist qualification or related.
  2. Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry or similar.
  3. A CMIOSH or BOSH qualification is desirable.
  4. Proven experience in conducting hygiene assessments.
  5. A strong understanding of workplace health hazards and control measures.

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of £55,000-£65,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
  • A 6-month contract with potential for extension.
