About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Quality Leader to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) team and ensuring excellence in health, safety, quality, and wellbeing across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the SHEQ Team: Provide leadership and direction for the SHEQ team, fostering a proactive safety culture within the company.
  • Develop and Implement SHEQ Systems: Develop and implement health and safety management systems, ensuring effective and accurate reporting of data and statistics.
  • Conduct Audits and Investigations: Conduct internal and external audits to establish a continuous improvement framework for SHEQ, and investigate incidents and accidents, making recommendations for change and monitoring near-miss data to reduce workplace accidents.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Drive regulatory and legislative compliance, adhering to the company's Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
  • Lead on CDM Regulations: Lead on CDM regulations, control of asbestos regulations, and the building safety act to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with Senior Management: Engage with senior management to support operational safety and provide sound advice and direction.
  • Develop and Maintain Policies: Develop and maintain company policies in line with Health & Safety legislation.
Requirements
  • Chartered Membership: Chartered Membership of a recognized industry body such as IIRSM or IOSH is desirable.
  • NEBOSH Diploma: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent level of experience.
  • Lead Auditor ISO 9001/14001 and 45001: Lead Auditor ISO 9001/14001 and 45001 management systems or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Managerial Experience: Demonstrable experience in a similar managerial role within a relevant sector.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, promoting a positive Health and Safety culture.
  • Strategic Leadership: Strategic leadership experience with the ability to gain trust and respect from peers.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Full UK Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points to meet the travel requirements of the role.
