Tradewinds Recruitment is partnering with a secondary pupil referral unit (PRU) seeking dedicated tutors to assist students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on a one-on-one basis in the South Ribble region.

The institution is committed to improving student attendance and engagement within the educational framework. Many of the students requiring tutoring may have faced challenges such as youth offending or vulnerabilities within their communities. Furthermore, some may present with conditions like ADHD or ASC.

Tutoring roles are often temporary, aimed at enhancing attendance prior to reintegration into the mainstream school environment. The school frequently seeks multiple tutors for diverse settings and methods, including in-person sessions, library support, home tutoring, or online assistance.

Tutors are encouraged to deliver tailored content, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to education. While Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, individuals with a background in mentoring SEMH students can also thrive in this role.


Key Responsibilities:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in core subjects, particularly Maths and English
  • Skilled in utilizing online educational tools effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Compassionate and patient approach towards vulnerable learners
  • Hold relevant safeguarding and child protection certifications
