Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary

Location: Chorley, South Ribble

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a student with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH) on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 11 student who requires individualized support to engage with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEMH difficulties
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to promote engagement and learning
  • Work collaboratively with the student's teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive support package
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with the student, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support

Requirements:

  • Level 3 or 4 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Relevant experience in a special educational needs or care setting supporting children with behavioral difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly on a 1:1 basis with KS4 students
  • Ability to establish a positive relationship with disengaged students
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
